Thailand Packages 2010

Thailand. The “Land of Smiles” awaits you and here are some suggestions for you from an experienced traveller.

Getting to Thailand requires some planning however. The first step is where to start in the country, and there are three major tourist destinations that cater to three very different groups of explorers.

The first is Bangkok. As the nations capital, largest city, and Suvarnabhumi Airport most people choose to fly to Bangkok for at least a couple days. Must sees in Bangkok are the Royal Palace, Wat Pho, the National Museum, Kho San Road, the Jim Thompson House, and Chinatown. Bangkok is HUGE and caters to any kind of taste. The shopping, eating, nightlife, and exploring are top notch.

If Bangkok leaves you feeling a bit overwhelmed by the “big city” travel north to Chiang Mi for a much more relaxed atmosphere of mountain serenity. Home to Chiang Mi University and the nations second largest city, Chiang Mi gives off a much slower paced attitude and caters to the outdoor explorer in all of us. Canopy tours, elephant trekking, river rafting, mountain biking, and much more await the brave soul who ventures into the wild north. Or if that’s not your thing, relax in one of the many beautifully seductive spas or coffeehouses.

Last but not least on the list of Thailand’s top three spots is the island paradise of Phuket. Located in southern Thailand the nation’s largest island is a tropical paradise of beaches, islands, and water of blue glass. Whether you want to dance the night away in Patong Beach or relax amongst the coconut trees and surf at Surin Beach, Phuket’s beaches are Thailand’s finest and should not be missed.

The most important part of planning your vacation to Thailand is just that. Plan! Researching your stay will make it all the more enjoyable, but also do not forget to improvise. You never know what’s around the next corner and the unexpected event could be the most memorable!
